So, you’re super excited about your idea. I’m getting a lot of feedback from people like you that have a great idea… but aren’t sure what to do next.
Don’t feel bad. Our recent poll shows that ½ of you don’t know what you should do next. Another 28% are moving forward but still need help. You aren’t alone!

Let’s have a quick conversation about what you should do IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU COME UP WITH AN IDEA.
✅ This is the gameplan entrepreneurs use!
⏸️ You DO NOT need:
Cash from investors
A business plan
A pitch deck
A technical co-founder
A college degree
A website and domain name
Company business cards and shirts
You don’t even need a company name right now
▶️ What you do need is the willingness to get out and talk to potential customers. Engage with them and find out where they are frustrated.
✔️ Ask yourself: Who is my ideal customer?
You should find a small segment of this ideal customer base that you can easily reach and start talking with them. You might have the huge vision to sell to ‘everybody everywhere’ but let’s start smaller with a group of people you have access to. Win them over first and then grow from there.
✔️ What groups are you a part of?
Does your ideal customer hang out there? If not, where does your ideal customer hang out (both online and offline)?
✔️ Are you an expert in this industry?
If so, start inserting yourself into the conversations these customers are having. Be an expert and the voice of someone looking to solve the major problems they face. Share your expertise with the group and build a network.
✔️ Once you talk with these people, you should be uncovering problems.
Are you hearing the same problem from multiple people? Great! Now you’re onto something. Put your idea in your back pocket for now and just listen. Listen to what their frustrations are. Maybe your idea solves them… maybe not. It’s ok either way.
✔️ Once you hear the same problems over and over, go back to the drawing board and come up with 2 or 3 ways to solve these problems. Then, go back to the potential customers and see if any of your solutions fit their needs.
✔️ You should be receiving early signals that you are on the right track!
When you are telling them about your solution, are you hearing excitement from them? Are they eager for you to build the solution? Would they pay you for it?
Entrepreneurship is as much about being a detective as it is about building cool things.
