Something we predicted in founder behavior came true this week.

Something we predicted in founder behavior came true this week.

Hello, Aron here.

Every week we pull the latest data from our platform and share what changed. Last week we flagged a country worth watching and this week something interesting happened.

Canada climbed from 23.2% to 27.1% build propensity in eight days, overtaking both Brazil and India to become the second strongest market we track, behind only Australia. Build propensity is the share of idea validators that move forward to build.

What it means for you:
The most motivated founders right now aren't necessarily where you'd expect. Geography is a weaker predictor of execution than people assume.

Interesting Movements

1️⃣ Customer clarity dropped

Founders with a clearly defined customer dropped from 40% to 30% this week. Those with a vague view of their customer actually grew from 26.7% to 30%.

2️⃣ AI/Tech keeps cooling: third week in a row

AI/Tech category share dropped again, from 13.4% to 11.4%. Three straight weeks of decline makes it a real trend. Platforms picked up some of that share, rising to 17.8%.

What it means for you:
The AI/Tech gold rush may be cooling. Our data shows that less of you are enamored of AI and more are building out practical ideas.

3️⃣ Consulting still leads execution: third week running

22% conversion rate, ahead of every other category again this week. Founders who know their customer and solve a real operational problem continue to move forward at the highest rate on the platform.

What it means for you:
The most executable idea is rarely the most exciting one. Lean into your domain expertise and lived experience.

One more note:
If you were here a year ago when we made our AI voice agent, Val, we used 11 Labs for it. Apparently, 11 Labs now has 👇

What we're watching next week

  • Customer clarity's split into two directions is the thing we're watching most closely. If the vague group keeps growing, that’s worth a deeper look.

  • We're also curious whether Canada holds its new position or if this week was a one-off spike.

  • We also just noticed our Founder Momentum Index (FMI) has dropped. We’re digging into the leading cause as the FMI is the best indicator of the health of the early-stage founder environment.
